Hey there, thanks for visiting!

 

Some basic intel:

I grew up in Los Angeles, and my family still lives there.  For college, I spent nine years on the Central Coast in San Luis Obispo.  There I earned both a BS (Physics) and MS (Materials Engineering) at Cal Poly - Go Mustangs!  After graduation, I was lucky to live and work in SLO for a little while playing with lasers... until sadly the Telecom Bubble Burst of 2001.  Next, I spent a year doing odd jobs and temp work; trying to survive a down economy.  Finally in 2002, I scored a solid laser job opportunity from a buddy and moved down to San Diego to start at General Atomics.  Been there ever since building, testing, and playing with lasers.  Good times!

 

From the bottom left corner of USA, San Diego offers a great jumping off spot for my various adventures in Polū:

 

• surf trips north up the coastline

• hiking slot canyons in the desert to the east

• being amongst trees and forests in the mountains to the northeast
